Recipe

1 SERVING

BURGER

INGREDIENTS

1/2 medium red onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing
Salt and freshly ground pepper
6 strips of bacon
1 pounds mixed ground chuck and ground sirloin
1 1/2 ounces brie, sliced
1 brioche burger buns, split

HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE

Preheat the oven to 400°. On a rimmed baking sheet, toss the onions with 2 tablespoons of the olive oil and roast until softened, about 20 minutes.

In a large skillet, cook the bacon over moderately high heat until crisp. Drain on paper towels and break each strip in half.

Light a grill or preheat a grill pan. Form the ground meat into eight patties. Season generously with salt and pepper and brush with olive oil. Grill over moderately high heat until well-browned on the bottom, 5 minutes. Flip the burgers, mound the brie on top and grill for 4 minutes longer, until the cheese is slightly melted and the burgers are medium-rare.

Close the burgers and serve right away.

HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE

Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease a large baking sheet and set aside.

Place potato wedges in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat. In a small bowl whisk together salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Sprinkle potato wedges with the shredded cheese, tossing to coat, then sprinkle with the seasoning mixture.

Place potato wedges on prepared baking sheet in a single layer with skin-sides-down. Bake for 25-35 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender and golden. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and dressing for dipping.

Reflection

I think that my burger turned out better than I expected. I added bacon, minced beef, lettuce, and tomatoes in the burger. I also had some bacon and pickles on the side. If I could do this again, what I would do to improve this burger is add a bit more spices to the minced beef so the burger would have more flavour. Overall, I really liked the burger and the feedback I got from my friends were very positive.
